Tinder

I haven't posted in a very long time, and I do apologies for that.

I'm posting again as I just have to talk about Tinder. Now anyone who has read SGW before, or follows us on Twitter will know that Internet Dating is something that we have tried before. We posted about how it's classed as embarrassing and people often try to hide the fact that they are on it, we've also posted about the many terrible messages we get from Men!

I'd given up all hope for dating sites until the wonderful Tinder came along. For any of you that don't know what Tinder is about here's the facts.
It uses your Facebook to set you up (don't worry it doesn't tell all your Facebook friends you use it).
You choose some pictures from your Facebook and write a little bit about yourself if you like, this isn't compulsory like other dating websites/ apps.
Here's the clever bit Tinder takes all your likes and interests from Facebook and shows you when someone matches with you!!
It does also tell you when you have a mutual friend... I still don't know quite how I feel about that bit!
It's a phone app rather than a website.

The Genius of it is that you can actually only message someone who has "liked" you back. So gone are the days of crazy messages from men your not interested in. ** Although I did get a message the other day saying "Let's be honest you'll always have somewhere nice to sit when my face is near you!" NICE!!!!!**

Gone are the social taboos about internet dating as literally EVERYONE and their dog is on Tinder (no joke 87% of the men's pictures I have seen feature a dog - it kind of works in their favour as the dogs are super cute!) I've seen people use it over coffee with Friends, on the bus home... literally every single lady or man I know has now joined Tinder. Although some of my friends must be over users as they have run out of people in their area, anyone else or just them?

The downside is, it kind of turns into a game... I don't mean to brag but I've "matched" with a lot of men on Tinder but conversation is sparse as people are too busy "Left or Right Swiping".
Even I have fallen fowl to calling it a game in our house we have even named it.. "No likey? Left swipey!" (Thanks Paddy McGuinness for the brilliant original catchphrase).

The other downside is you become completely judgmental about the men and their choice of pictures! I dread to think what they say about me!
Hopefully I'll get passed calling it a game and actually get round to talking to some of these "matches" and maybe even getting a date.
There's just one thing niggling me about Tinder, I have a feeling it's full of men looking for a one night hook up!

Let me know how you are getting on with Tinder. Have you had any dates or are you a Tinderella (see the below link if you have no idea what I'm on about).
